ASD personnel and guests shovel dirt at the construction site of a new high school

Alpine School District officially broke ground on a new high school last month, marking a significant milestone for the rapidly growing community.

The new high school, scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2028, promises to be a cornerstone of education for the region. Located near the corner of Mountain View Corridor and Ensign Drive, just west of the Saratoga Springs Temple, the campus will serve families in the Westlake High School and Cedar Valley High School boundaries. Projections suggest it will be one of the largest high schools in the state.

Alpine School Board President Julie King thanked families and taxpayers for making a long-term investment in the rising generation, and "for believing in the power of education."

"This high school is more than bricks and mortar," she said. "This high school is a long-term investment in the future of our community. It will serve as a physical representation of the belief and hope we have in our children."

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from Alpine School District, Saratoga Springs City, Eagle Mountain City, and Hogan Construction Company.

Frank Pulley, Alpine's director of physical facilities, expressed his honor at being part of the project. He said that the facility would transcend its physical form, becoming "more than just a building; it will be a place where young minds are nurtured, where future leaders are developed, and where the foundation for a brighter tomorrow is built."

Lake Mountain School District will assume all operations of schools in Saratoga Springs on July 1, 2027, a year before the high school opens doors to students.
